This particular branch of training is aimed at organisations where there are staff who have front facing roles and need to build on skills to communicate appropriately with members of the public who may have communication, learning and support needs. To ensure that you and your team have a full understanding, this package provides guidelines and tips based on the social model of disability.
We find that our training is also useful for organisations who want to work in partnership with adults and children with learning disabilities as we separate access from inclusion and demonstrate how good communication needs to be based on an understanding of inclusive practice.
The training provides thought-provoking, up-to-date, relevant information and tools that will offer an achievable skill set to volunteers and staff teams.
By the time you’ve finished your training, you should be able to see visible results, including increased skills and confidence in communicating with members of the public, and understanding how, and why, to actively support disability equality.
‘Useful and relevant – and a reminder that we are all INDIVIDUALS’.
