Arts Group Handbook

Arts Group Handbook
The Arts Group Handbook was written by the Dr Nicola Grove and the Openstorytellers team. It is an accessible guide to setting up your own arts organisation. You work through the handbook together as a group, helping you decide what your group does, who is it for and what your goals are. There are activities and discussion points to help you along your journey and as you work through the different sections you are working towards your business plan. There are workbooks for your group to fill in as you work through the handbook.

You can download a taster of the Openstorytellers Arts Group Handbook here.

What people say about The Arts Group Handbook

“The Openstorytellers “Arts Group Handbook” contains a well planned, accessible and fun course that covers everything you need to consider when planning to start a learning disability led arts organisation. An excellent resource that would be of value to anyone.”
Gus Garside, National Arts Development Manager, MENCAP

“The Arts Group Handbook is the first of its kind – a detailed and accessible guide to setting up an arts group. Not only is it a valuable resource for people with learning disabilities, but it provides a clear and thorough guide to navigating a complex process. It will be useful to very many people, I’m sure”
Mark Richardson, Artistic Director – Carousel

The Arts Group Handbook is available to order as a printed resource or as a PDF. Please download an order form here and return to Openstorytellers.
