Openstorytellers is delivering an open access training course – Storysharing® for Beginners, on Wednesday 23rd November 2016 in Taunton. Book your place now (before 11th October) to get a 10% earlybird discount!
Storysharing® revolutionises communication practices for staff of all disciplines working with people with learning disabilities, autism and communication difficulties.
Storysharing is an innovative communication method based on personal narrative that enables and empowers individuals. It helps us to have conversations with people who have severe difficulties in communication.
Storysharing uses systematic strategies to develop the ability of participants to recall and tell stories, particularly personal experiences; its principles are based on the recognition of the value of these stories to build communication confidence and inclusion.
Your tutor will be Dr. Nicola Grove, the founder of Openstorytellers. Nicola developed Storysharing through ten years of practice with over 100 adults and children. Storysharing is a technique that involves remembering and telling a personal story with specific support. It is a powerful tool that is applicable across a wide range of varied abilities.
