Thank you to our Trustees

It's National Trustee Week this week and we would like to mark it by extending a huge and heartfelt thank you to our Trustees.

Our Trustees - Sarah Talbot-Williams, Bill Palmer, Ruth Read, Jane Flood, Juliet Solomon and Judith Beresford - are all really committed to what we do and bring a broad range of knowledge and experience to help support and guide our charity. They are fundamental to our work and generously give their time and energy to help shape our development and longevity.

We've taken the opportunity to chat with Sarah, our current Chair about what drew her to OpenStoryTellers and what she gets out of it too...

What made you want to support OpenStoryTellers as a trustee? I have worked with a lot of charities on their boards but when I heard about the fantastic work that OpenStoryTellers does, I felt it was a charity that I really wanted to support. They make a real difference and have such an amazing team to support people in our communities who are often excluded and disadvantaged. When an opening on the board appeared, I was delighted to be able to apply.

What do you enjoy most about being a trustee for OpenStoryTellers?

I have been so impressed by the confidence and passion of the members when they work on OST activities. I am also really inspired by the staff team and volunteers who are so committed and have such energy delivering their work.

Do you have any particular memories of your time with us that you'd like to share?

I have only been a trustee since April 2020 so haven’t seen the work as face to face as I would have liked to, but was really impressed with the way that the team adapted to the challenging situation that everyone was facing and ensured that all our members still gained support and development through we all faced. I thought the first on-line Bardic Chair storytelling event was amazing!

Tell us a fun fact about yourself!

I love singing – and sing in three groups/choirs but also sing jazz when I can get a small band together which is rarely! I would love to find a local band to sing jazz with too.

Thank you Sarah for all of your hard work and to all of our Trustees too.

A big cheers to all of you, from all of us at OpenStoryTellers - hurrah!

And a very Happy Trustee Week to all others out there who give their time and enthusiasm in support of special projects and charities - it really is a vital role.
