Job Title: Group Assistant
Salary: £10 per hour
Hours: 22.5 hours per week – Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays

OpenStoryTellers is a community arts charity supporting people with learning disabilities and autism to find their voice and use it. Stories are what make us human, they help us make sense of the world, make friends and take part in society. We have a range of innovative day services, workshops, activities, and events that help hundreds of people each year, from our base in Frome.
Purpose and description of post
OpenStoryTellers day services are creative and collaborative. We support a number of people with a range of learning disabilities and/or autism to take part in various activities, each with storytelling at the heart.
Our day services enable people to explore and develop their skills and take part in exciting, creative opportunities. These include storytelling and theatre performances, making props and costumes, creating puppets and dioramas, making podcasts, working on poetry, artwork, computers, as well as working on personal outcomes, making friends and getting involved in the community.
Role
Your role will be to support the delivery of the day service provision in accordance with Openstorytellers’ ethos, policies and procedures. You will work closely with individuals and help them to participate fully in activities and projects, taking into account their individual abilities, ambitions and needs. Through the day service you will also be supporting participants to take an active part in their community.
We are looking for an organised, creative individual to support the day service groups.
