We are delighted to be welcoming a new Director into our team this June but sad to say goodbye to our current Director Cindy Moxham, who leaves to pursue a new venture outside of Somerset.
Cindy joined the team as a Development Manager in 2009 and became Director in 2011, but she is now preparing to say goodbye to the charity after her six year run. The Openstorytellers team works alongside people who have additional needs to get their voices heard and to be valued members of their community. The charity has grown steadily during Cindy’s time working with the team and has lead the charity from strength to strength, now boasting 4 day services and many other activities and social clubs within the local area.
‘I’ve made lifelong friends among the team here, and I’ve met many inspiring people during my Openstorytellers journey. Although I’ll miss working with such wonderful people, I feel that it’s time to start a new chapter.’ Cindy said. ‘I know the charity is in very capable hands and I look forward to hearing about Openstorytellers’ future achievements.’
We will welcome our new Director, Simon Morris, in June and are confident that he will continue to take the charity to new heights. Originally working for Salisbury Arts Centre as Engagement Manager, Simon is thrilled to be a part of Openstorytellers and is enthusiastic to take the charity to the next level.
‘I consider myself lucky to be a part of Openstorytellers,’ Simon said, ‘it’s a fantastic organisation. I’ve always admired their work to dispel the negative stigma surrounding learning disabilities and I’m proud to be working with them.’
Tracy Rose, Chair of Trustees at Openstorytellers, said, ‘We’re sad to see Cindy leaving us and wish her all the best with her new venture. Simon has plenty of experience and I’m certain that he can continue to steer Openstorytellers in the right direction. We’re excited to work with him.’
Since securing the position, Simon has also been very excited about moving over to Frome and he is looking forward to becoming a part of the vibrant community.
